Our Season of Plenty was aptly named as our three main Shakespeare prodctions - The Tempest, A Midsummer Night's Dream and Macbeth - played to audiences of, on average, 95% capacity. Thanks for coming! Over 160,000 of those tickets were bought by hardy Groundlings who spent just £5 to see a play; a price that has not changed since the Globe opened its doors 16 years ago.
Ordinarily as the Globe season closes we start to think ahead to the next summer, but this year we welcome the colder months with delight as it means the inaugural season of the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse draws ever closer. Sharpen your brains for opening production The Duchess of Malfi with our Women's Wit events series. Read down the newsletter for more about what's happening at the Globe this month. "Very many, men and women too." Antony and Cleopatra, Act V, Scene 2 |
